Type Locality and Naming

The type section is located at Tarma, about 40 km southeast of Mujiuco, and about 70 km southeast of Xianza County, Tibet. It was named by Wang Wenbin in 1957.


Lithology and Thickness

Limestone. Light-gray moderately thick-bedded limestone, intercalated with thin-bedded dolomitic limestone; ~1200 m thick.

Lower contact

Unknown: Its relationship with the underlying stratum is unclear because bottom is incompletely exposed.

Upper contact

Conformable contact with the overlying Shalonglieting Fm = previous "Orphan"

Regional extent

Distributed around Tarmar and Yunzhug Township of Xianza County as well as Wenbu of Gyêwa County
